College football recruiting commitments come earlier and earlier every year, but there’s a long way to go till the Early Signing Period in December. Seven of the top 10 recruits in the 2026 class already committed including offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, the No. 1 overall prospect who chose Miami in May.

Plenty of names are still on the board with a number of decisions set to be made over the 4th of July weekend. The rush of commitments kicked off early when 4-star QB Luke Fahey (CA) chose Ohio State on Thursday night.

The fun is nowhere close to being over as programs continue to build on their 2026 class, and here are five 5-star commitments to watch over the next few days.

Star ratings are according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Felix Ojo

Offensive tackle Felix Ojo (TX) will choose between Texas, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida and Utah on Friday afternoon. He took official visits to all five schools recently with the Utes getting the final look last month. Ojo is trending toward the in-state Longhorns at this point and is rated as the seventh overall prospect, second offensive tackle and first and Texas.

Calvin Russell

Wide receiver Calvin Russell (FL) will reveal his decision on Saturday with a top three that includes Michigan, Florida State and Oregon. The Wolverines are considered the favorites a day before the announcement following his final official visit on June 20. If this comes to fruition, Michigan will continue to improve its future passing game after landing Bryce Underwood, the top overall 2025 prospect, with three wide receivers committed already.

Jireh Edwards

Safety Jireh Edwards (MD) will choose Alabama, Auburn or Georgia on Saturday after canceling official visits to Texas A&M and Oregon. Those were canceled following the OV to Alabama, and all signs point to the Crimson Tide adding one of the top 2026 safeties by the end of this weekend. Edwards is rated as the No. 23 overall prospect in the class.

Bryce Perry-Wright

Defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright (GA) is down to Clemson, Texas A&M, Texas and Miami with a Saturday commitment expected. Opinions are mixed on where he might land with Clemson taking an early lead, but Texas A&M appears to be in the best position at this point of his recruitment following a recent official visit. Perry-Wright is a top-five prospect in Georgia.

Chauncey Kennon

Cornerback Chauncey Kennon (FL) is expected to be the final 5-star prospect to make a decision over the 4th of July weekend at this point with a commitment coming Sunday night. The top contenders include LSU, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, Miami and Florida State. The Seminoles are in a strong position to pick up the No. 2 overall cornerback prospect in the 2026 recruiting class.

Enjoy what should be a fun weekend of college football recruiting.
