She could’ve stepped down when hate speech began flooding the platform. She could’ve stepped down when major brands found their ads running alongside antisemitic content. She could’ve stepped down when X started leaning on scammy crypto schemes and shady AI apps to pay the bills. Or when Elon Musk gave a Nazi salute. Or when he literally wielded a chainsaw while bragging about slashing thousands of federal jobs—and the livelihoods that came with them.
There were so many moments when Linda Yaccarino could’ve walked away as CEO of X. Instead, she chose to stay. Not just to let the leopards keep eating her face—but to actively unleash them on others. She enabled the leopards.
And now, after the company’s AI went full MechaHitler, Yaccarino has finally—finally—decided to step down. From what, exactly? This isn’t a company anymore; it’s a sewer with a text box.
“When @elonmusk and I first spoke of his vision for X, I knew it would be the opportunity of a lifetime to carry out the extraordinary mission of this company. I’m immensely grateful to him for entrusting me with the responsibility of protecting free speech, turning the company around, and transforming X into the Everything App,” she wrote on X.
Did she actually turn it around? Or did she just white-knuckle the passenger-side headrest while Elon Musk’s self-driving clown car launched off a cliff?
