Joshua Jackson’s Story About George Clooney Explains ‘Doctor Odyssey’s’ Dr. Max

Am I still mad at George Clooney for wading too deep into politics last year? Yes, mostly. Am I disappointed in Joshua Jackson for messy divorce stuff? A little bit. But I saw this clip this morning, from a sports show I never watch, and something finally clicked in my brain about these two.

Throughout the entire first season of Doctor Odyssey, I found myself comparing Jackson’s physicality and mannerisms to Clooney. It felt like Dr. Max was modeled after George Clooney in some ways. And I think this story from the Ocean’s 11 set might explain why:

Baby Joshua, still mostly known as Pacey from Dawson’s Creek at the time, was so impressed by Danny Ocean-era Clooney that he totally imprinted on George like a duckling imprints on its mother.

It’s kind of adorable when you think about it.

And now I will never not see George Clooney peeking out from behind every Joshua Jackson performance. And, if we get a second season of Doctor Odyssey (which is not looking good) I have two wish-list items:

1) A song by Phillipa Soo
2) A guest spot by George Clooney. He and Jackson can do that Harpo Marx/Lucille Ball mirror routine.
