In a lengthy three-hour interview with Hunter Biden, journalist Andrew Callaghan — who is no stranger to controversy (or sexual misconduct allegations) himself — alleged that George Clooney forced Jack Black to break up Tenacious D.
Callaghan claims in the interview (via Variety) that he knows Jack Black, with whom he used to be neighbors. According to Callaghan, the day after a Tenacious D bandmember suggested that the Trump attempted assassin “aim higher,” George Clooney repeatedly called Jack Black and insisted he break up the band.
“George Clooney is blowing his phone up, being like, ‘If you don’t kick your bandmember out of the band and, like, publicly denounce this guy’ — like I don’t know what the consequences were, but it was kind of like, ‘You’re out!’ Out of what, we don’t know. And so his hand was basically forced to be like, ‘Oh, sorry, my bandmember has serious mental-health problems. We’re breaking up the band for now. The tour is canceled.’”
“F**k him,” Hunter Biden responds, forcefully. “F**k him. F**k him. And everyone around him.”
Biden then goes on to agree with Quentin Tarantino that Clooney is not “a f**king actor. I don’t know what he is. He’s a f**king brand.”
“And god bless him,” Hunter seems to backtrack. “He supposedly treats his friends really well … and he’s great friends with Barack Obama. [But] f**k you. What do you have to do with f**king anything? Why do I have to f**king listen to you? What right do you have to step on a man who has given 52 years of his f**king life” to America?
Biden then criticizes Clooney for taking out that full-page ad in The New York Times demanding that his father drop out, insinuating that Clooney took his cues from either Barack Obama or the Obama team. He also goes off on Obama’s people — David Axelrod, David Plouffe, the Pod Save America guys — for “inserting their judgment” over that of the American people.
It’s a wild interview. The Clooney stuff begins around the two-and-a-half-hour mark.
