Malcolm-Jamal Warner died in a drowning accident during a family vacation in Costa Rico, People magazine reports. The actor was 54.
The beloved actor was best known for playing Theodore “Theo” Huxtable on The Cosby Show, which ran from 1984 to 1992, receiving an Emmy award in 1986. He also played Malcolm alongside Eddie Griffin in Malcolm & Eddie in the late ’90s, led Reed Between the Lines with Tracee Ellis Ross for two seasons in the early 2010s, launched the mental-health-focused podcast Not All Hood, and last I saw, had a brief recurring role on 9-1-1.
The actor is survived by his wife and daughter. Though he led a private life, he always seemed like an exceptional person. This is heartbreaking news. May his memory be a blessing.
The one-sided feud will not be squashed before ‘WTF’ with Marc Maron ends.
