Following a two-year, $18 million restoration, Norwalk’s iconic Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum reopened its doors to the public on June 4, 2025. This grand 44,000-square-foot Second Empire–style landmark—originally built for 19th-century financier LeGrand Lockwood—has been thoughtfully updated with state-of-the-art HVAC, Wi-Fi, fire suppression systems, and ADA-compliant access. At the same time, key historic features such as the Rotunda, original front doors, archival rooms, and period lighting have been carefully restored to preserve the mansion’s historic charm and architectural integrity.
