A few days ago, I had a conversation with my kids, who informed me we should expect some celebrity to die because of a woman named Trisha Paytas. Why is that? I asked. They explained that when she has a baby, a famous world leader dies. In 2022, she gave birth to a daughter, Malibu Barbie, on the same day that Queen Elizabeth II died.
The birth of Trisha Paytas’s second child, Elvis, didn’t actually line up with a famous person’s death. However, according to my children, the gender reveal for the third baby occurred on the same day that Pope Francis died. Fact check: False. Regardless, the internet has insisted that Malibu Barbie is Queen Elizabeth II reincarnated. And though neither the second child nor any significant events involving the third child directly line up with Pope Francis, the internet continues to insist that one of the two babies is Pope Francis reincarnated.
Then, two days ago, my children informed me that Trisha Paytas had a third child and, therefore, someone famous would die. Fact check: False. She had a baby on July 12th, though the name was not announced until July 22nd, the same day that Ozzy Osbourne died. It’s close enough Gen Z, who refuse to let facts get in the way of a good Internet theory. I’m not exactly sure how the Trisha Paytas baby theory works, but apparently, there’s also some sort of irony involved in the supposed reincarnation of Pope Francis in Paytas’s third child, named Aquaman Moses, on the same day the Prince of Darkness passed away.
Does this internet theory make any sense? Not really! Does it nevertheless persist? Yes!
After the theory was explained to me, I asked my kids, “Who is Trisha Paytas?”
“I have no idea,” they said.
So, the nonsensical internet theory involving Trisha Paytas’s babies is more popular than Trisha Paytas herself. For the record: Trisha Paytas is a YouTube star, influencer, actress, and podcaster. Kayleigh wrote about her two years ago. Not flatteringly.

Update: Kaleena has informed me that Trisha Paytas has apparently had a tubal ligation, and Hulk Hogan has died. Coincidence? Clearly not!
